Boil-off gas (BOG) inevitably forms in cryogenic LNG and LPG storage and transfer as ambient heat vaporizes a small fraction of the liquid. BOG packages recover this vapor — compressing it and either reliquefying it back into the tank or routing it to the fuel gas system — instead of venting or flaring it, protecting tank pressure and product.
